Exactly What Your Puppy’s Had, and What’s Next

No guesswork, no surprises. We follow current AAHA puppy guidelines, finish everything age-appropriate before gotcha day, and send you home with a vet-signed record showing what’s done — and what your vet handles next.

Vaccination Schedule

  • 6 weeks: First DA2PP combination vaccine (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
  • 9 weeks: Second DA2PP booster
  • 12 weeks: Third DA2PP booster + Bordetella (kennel cough), if appropriate
  • 16 weeks: Final DA2PP booster + Rabies (given by your vet)
  • 1 year & ongoing: Annual DA2PP and Rabies boosters per your vet’s recommendation

Puppies that head home before 12 or 16 weeks still have boosters ahead — and that’s completely normal. Your puppy’s record spells out exactly what’s done and what’s still due, so your vet picks up right where we left off.

Deworming Schedule

  • 2 weeks: First deworming (pyrantel)
  • 4 weeks: Second deworming
  • 6 weeks: Third deworming + fecal screen
  • 8 weeks: Fourth deworming with broader-spectrum dewormer
  • Ongoing: Year-round monthly heartworm + intestinal parasite prevention from your vet

Heartworm & Flea Prevention

Once your puppy reaches the appropriate age and weight, we recommend starting year-round heartworm prevention plus flea/tick coverage. Your vet will pick the product best suited to your area.

What to Avoid Until Vaccines Are Complete

Until that final booster lands (around 16 weeks), your puppy’s immune system is still under construction. Please steer clear of:

  • Dog parks and pet store floors
  • Areas where unknown dogs have eliminated
  • Boarding kennels and grooming salons (except medically necessary)

The good news: carrying your puppy through public places is not just allowed, it’s excellent — all the sights and sounds with none of the risk. Just let those tiny paws touch the ground only where you’d trust them.

Always Talk to Your Vet

This page is our schedule — the one your puppy actually lived on. Your own vet knows your neighborhood, your climate, and your puppy, so let them confirm the plan for your local conditions. Bring the record we gave you; vets love breeders who keep records.
